Pretty tasty stuff. I did my own thing with information technology though. While browning the beef I seasoned it with onion powder, garlic powder, freshly ground black pepper, and a smidge of common salt. I chopped up one modest onion, and afterwards draining the beef I mixed the beef, cream of mushroom soup, and chopped onions together and let them simmer a flake. Then poured the mixture into a 10x10 casserole dish. I added sharp cheddar. Then put the tots on, and then added triple cheddar shredded cheese on peak of the tots. My family unit loved it including my ii year old who typically doesn't swallow beef!

This popped up this a.g. and remiinded me of how long it'southward been since I'd fixed this quick & succulent goulash. Versatile...turkey, beefiness, pork, lamb meats, tomato or foam based soups work, add together a layer of grean beans, carrots or corn and you accept a complete meal. Vary the spices & information technology's a new casserole each time you make it. Thanks barryzimm for bringing back 1 of our faves.

I dearest this recipie. My family has used it for years. It is something thay you can even brand the day before and put in your fridge. I practice add a few things though, after i brown my hamburger I add together fresh or canned mushrooms every bit well every bit some frozen vegetables. You lot can add what ever yous want. I usually add corn and peas. I also put some cheese nether the tatertots and a niggling on superlative of the tater tots. This allows them to become crispy.

I run a kitchen in a nursing home. We fabricated this recipe this week for our residents. It was such a hit everyone came back for seconds and thirds!!!! Staff and family members had me print the recipe so they could make it home. I had my cook utilize Lawry'southward instead of salt plus we cooked the burger with fresh onions, mushrooms & garlic. I accept used this recipe for years. Information technology was a favorite of one of the ladies in our church and always appeared at pot-lucks. Nick----it may not be the "nuevo cuisine" you are probably use to eating---but as a former home economist, it definitely isn't trash cooking. About families and kids love it and information technology certainly is an economic dish to prepare. Serve information technology with a green salad or light-green veggies if the nutrition level upsets y'all.

I love this recipe and my son loves it too one of his favorite dishes!!! My grandma fabricated this for me growing upwards and nevertheless beloved information technology to this day i make it a trivial different tho but like i said tastes great i dark-brown i to 1 1/two lbs ground beef with onions(optional) bleed grease from meat (& onions if use) then i accept a tin of foam of mushroom soup, a tin can of either french style cut green beans or reg.cut green beans (drained) and mix together then add together to beef and layer on bottom of ix×13 pan then sprinkle a small layer of shredded cheddar cheese then i add a layer of spud tots and and so i add more shredded cheese on top bake in 350° oven for about 30-35 min or until cheese is bubbles and so sprinkle(cover)top with french's french fried onions and put dorsum in oven until fried onions are crispy have out and enjoy!!!!!

My family unit loves when I make this simple meal. I add onion and garlic to the beef. When I am assembling it in the casserole dish, I top the beefiness with a layer of frozen veggies, then a little cheese before adding the white potato tots. Really is yummy.

I was pondering how to twist the flavors so I experimented. Instead of Beef I used iii cups of leftover turkey (cubed) and replaced the can of soup with a cup and a half of turkey gravy and a HALF tin can of soup. I added a picayune extra flour to thicken it upwards a bit. Because of the flavor in my bootleg gravy, I didn't need whatever onion but add information technology to taste. I poured the mixture into a casserole dish as usual and sprinkled shredded cheddar cheese to lightly embrace it then added a drained ten oz can (roughly) of French green beans. I normally utilize a few actress Tots to aid with texture. I finished with crumbled Sausage stuffing left over from Thanksgiving as well. I have made this recipe 3x at present and I constitute a way that I similar it. First time, followed the recipe exactly with the exception of calculation four eggs and baking the tater tots 10 minutes before calculation them. I loved the ease of this recipe and how fast it came together and cooked. I didn't have cream of mushroom on mitt so I only removed my beef (seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic pulverisation, and italian seasonings) after browning it, added equal parts butter and flour, added beef stock and made my own little sauce. One time I added the beefiness back to the pan, the mixture thickened upward nicely. I kept the cheese underneath the tator tots and it turned out great. My kids, whom accept been known to be picky eaters, both had seconds. Definitely a new addition to our family menu!

I made this and we all liked information technology, but there was something missing to us Soni made it again. This time I added a chopped upwardly onion and about 2 tbsp of garlic and used sharp cheddar. It was much more our taste. Thanks for posting this recipe.

So I have eight kids and I suppose my result with meals are always, is it going to be enough? Will they exist full enough? Oh geez and on top of TIME constraints! I hateful, information technology's hectic! This repast definitely did the task! Forgot to put in the cheese and my husband told me afterward that he never liked this with cheese when I made it earlier. Happy blow. Will brand this over again with these changes.

the meat mixture had nil flavor so the 2nd time I made this I merely made my shepherd's pie recipe and put the tots on meridian of that instead of mashed potatoes . ... much much meliorate than this bland recipe that my kids just smothered in ketchup for some flavour!!

Very good 'on a upkeep' repast. added some sauteed onion, and used Lawry's seasoning salt and black pepper. Mixed some of the cheese in with the ground beef, put the rest on pinnacle and and so added potato tots.Was washed in 35 minutes, tater tots were crisp. Would definitely make once more.

I doubled everything just instead of 2 cans of mushroom soup I substituted a tin of cheddar cheese soup and added a tin of corn (drained). Height servings with Mexican hot sauce.

Love this recipe! I did make a few alterations though. I added one packet of onion soup mix to the footing beefiness and I as well added cheese under the potatoes as well. I served this with a side salad and garlic bread, fabled meal!

This is a classic! My Mom taught it to me before I went off to higher. Sophomore year I lived in a house with 4 other guys, each would cook dinner one day a calendar week. I cooked this the outset week and thereafter my room mates would demand it when information technology was my plough to melt. I added some onion and garlic as well as some herbs and spices per some banal reviews. I also added a flake of mustard and ketchup with worchishire sauce. I put the cheese under the tots and put in oven for 30 mins. This is a great , elementary recipe. It is one of my grandchildren favorite. At present whe. They spend the night this is what they want. I have experimented and made a few changes. I observe that if I broil the tator tots for about 15 in a 425 oven it changes the texture and taste of the final product. (I broil them while I am making the sauce and so there is no real change in the cooking fourth dimension.) I besides season the beef with onions, bell peppers, garlic and salt and pepper. After the beefiness is cooked I drain in then add the soup and a can of Rico cheddar cheese, and a fleck of milk. I rut it through then pour a layer of this sauce in the bottom of my goulash dish, add the tator tots and pinnacle with the rest of the sauce and shredded cheddar cheese. Delicious!

My family loves this! I always forget how long to melt it so i have to await it upwardly again occassionally and i establish this recipe. I E'er flavour my meat every bit i cook with garlic, onions, or peradventure even steak seasoning depending on my mood. Then i also add light-green chilis and ive been known to add together footling velveeta cubes into the meat mixture a fourth dimension or two before covering with the tots. This is pretty tasty! I did get a flake liberal with the garlic table salt when seasoning the meat, and I wish I'd mixed some sort of veggie in with it, but all in all, this one's a "I'd arrive again!" recipe. :)

I cooked this for my family this evening and they loved it!! I put my own swag in it though. I seasoned the ground beefiness with Tony Chachere's, cayenne pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and parsley. I used foam of chicken and mushroom soup and added Colby and Monterey Jack cheeses to the mixture before adding the tots and then cooked for xl min then that the tots were crispy. Then I topped information technology off with some more of my cheese blend and baked for some other 15 min. Succulent!!

The recipe was very adept, quick and easy. Instead on mushroom soup I used a can of beef gravy. I baked the tators for 10 minutes prior to adding them to the casserole. The shredded cheese (marble), I placed half the corporeality under the tators and the remainder over top. The gravy cheese and potatoes fabricated it like a cantankerous between a poutine and a sheppards pie :)

This is a expert basic casserole. It's easy to put together, filling and fairly inexpensive. I used this as a base recipe similar I exercise with most. It'south very tasty then like shooting fish in a barrel to brand! I added frozen green beans in the cream of mushroom soup mix and used onion flavored tater tots and French fried onions on top of the cheese, I used an 8x8 casserole dish and broiled it an extra 10 minutes for extra crispiness! YUM!

My family loves this meal. I saute some onions and throw in a small-scale packet of frozen green beans or spinach and it'south a hit! I have also used what other ground meat is on hand, turkey or craven, and other "cream of" soups and it is corking.

Those of you that rate this atrocious probably didn't drain all the grease off of the ground beef once information technology was cooked. It said to add anything I wanted so I did. Added tin can of pinto beans, light-green beans, taco seasoning and corn of grade, it made a lot. Put cheese over all and topped with the tots. Pretty darn skilful

I used ham instead of ground beef, because I had ham. I also sauteed an onion, added along with the ham at the bottom. Insanely good for a 5 item entree. Nuked it in the microwave so it was already hot, earlier adding cheese and fifteen-20 minutes in the oven.

I took the advice of another reviewer and added the packet of Lipton onion soup mix. That added great flavor! I'll make information technology once more with this twist. I also added dark-green beans. My 2 teenage boys, who usually don't like veggies mixed in with things, liked it a lot.

I double the ingredients, and add 2 cans of french cutting green beans (drained) to 2 cans foam of mushroom soup. Ground beef on the bottom, beans and soup next, tots on summit. Add together the cheese the last 5 minutes, after the tots are brown and crispy. It a great comfort food on those -80 caste windchill nights.
